Melissa Cross has been performing professionally since the age of eight. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and children. She is a proud vocal contractor and proud vocal educator. Melissa has been teaching since 2001. She has been involved in the recording industry since 1997 and has been a vocalist on recordings since 1992. She has taught at major colleges and universities throughout the United States, including Rutgers University-Newark, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Seton Hall, Connecticut College, Ohio State, the Institute of American Values and Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of Hartford. She has also been a guest vocal coach on numerous television programs and sitcoms, including NBC’s “The Office” and “30 Rock” and ABC’s “Ugly Betty.” Melissa has also taught at the TVT School of Performing Arts in New York City and is a member of the Singers Hall of Fame. Melissa was the recipient of the 2009 A.J. Pettet Award from the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). She is a member of the American Federation of Teachers and the AGMA.
Melissa is a member of the American Association of Teachers of Singing, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the New York Teachers of Singing and the New Jersey Teachers of Singing.
