Mac Os X 10.6 8 Startup Disk __HOT__ Download

I'm running Snow Leopard version 10.6.8 and I need to create a bootable (startup) disk containing \"Snow Leopard\" 10.6.8 which is what I'm running on my MacBook Pro. I have the original \"S.L.\" disk from Apple but of course I can no longer boot up from it as it's too old (version wise). So, as I need to continue running Snow Leopard on this machine until one last sofware app. is updated to run on \"Lion\" I REALLY NEED a bootable \"Snow Leopard\" disk that I can use, safely with my MBP running Snow Leopard v. 10.6.8 I've never created a bootable disk before so I need step-by-step instructions of where to download the DMG files needed and the steps to create the bootable DVD. Thanks everyone!
What exactly do you want Do you want a bootable Snow Leopard installer (10.6.3) or do you want a bootable installation of Snow Leopard that is upgraded to 10.6.8 These are two different things. There are no downloadable .dmg files to do either. You start with a functioning 10.6.3 Snow Leopard DVD or a functioning installation of Snow Leopard on a hard drive.

I would like to make an OS X 10.6.8 bootable DVD which also contains my favorite disk utlity apps (emergency boot dvd disk). I have 10.6.8 installed on my MacBook Pro. Is this possible I think I saw an article that explained how to create a USB flash drive with OS X and utility apps. It seems like I should be able to create a DVD as well.
I am trying to upgrade my early 2011 MacBook Pro to High Sierra. I reinstalled Mac OS X 10.6.8, I was previously using Ubuntu, but now when I go to the App Store to download El Capitan (used as a stepping stone to get to High Sierra) and click \"GET\" nothing happens. Nothing happens when I try to download other apps either.
Nevertheless, keep in mind that if you visit developer.apple.com/downloads, you can only find 10.3-10.6 OS X operating systems there. Newer versions are not available because starting Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.7, the App Store has become the only source of updating Apple OS versions.
One thing to consider about this approach is that the setting choice stays in place until it has been changed again through the Startup Disk Manager. This means that if the chosen startup volume has been disconnected from the Mac, on the next reboot a blinking question mark may appear, because the set startup disk is no longer visible. If that blinking question mark is persistent, that can be easily remedied by holding down the OPTION key, selecting the normal Macintosh HD boot volume at startup as outlined above, and then going back to Startup Disk in System Preferences to choose the proper MacOS or Mac OS X startup volume again.
Newer Macs have the ability to start up directly from an Internet-based version OS X Recovery. When the Recovery System on the startup drive isn't available, your Mac will automatically use this feature. If the startup disk is damaged or replaced, Internet OS X recovery mode is very useful and lets you start your Mac directly from Apple's servers. You can perform a quick test of your memory and hard drive to check for hardware issues.
Standalone Updates enable you to apply updates to Mac OS X in lieu of using Software Update. They are downloaded to your Mac and installed by mounting the associated disk image and launching the Installer package therein.
If you burn a Standalone Update to an optical disc or copy it to a USB flash drive, its disk image must be copied to your desktop or another location on your Mac OS X startup disk in order to be installed.
The OS file size was reduced, making storage space available for users to store other files. Snow Leopard OS was compact and lite and consumed less storage space on the disk. The OS size of Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 has been considerably reduced to support the smooth functioning of the computer. The size of the OS has been squeezed to less than 7 GB. this size reduction was made possible by removing the pre-installed drivers for printers.
I'm a Mac consultant with a bit over 1400 clients. I've updated about 20 of them to 10.6.8 with no problems to report to date. Most of the problems reported seem to be with programs which change or modify kernel extensions or startup files - PGP or printer and scanner drivers, for instance. With thousands of these third party programs out there, you can't realistically test all of them, especially in various combinations like PGP Desktop and a HP scanner driver, for instance. So the fixes have to be after the problems manifest themselves in real live use.
What would I do without TidBITS! I recently ordered a Mac Mini because it will come with Snow Leopard installed instead of Lion. In doing so I will also be making the leap from Tiger. As a chronic late adopter I wanted to avoid Lion because it doesn't support Rosetta, something I learned from TidBITS. I'm not a power user and my PPC software serves me well. Now I know enough to watch for problems on 10.6.8 and have downloaded the combo updater as a precaution. Thanks TidBITS.
If I boot from a startup disk that has 10.6.8 installed, according to my research it will boot. If I try to boot from anything earlier it will not. If I had an old mac with 10.6.8 installed I could clone that disc. So I assume these grey 10.6.4 install DVD did not come with the iMac of unknown year, or make or model. I just received an old Imac from a family member running os x 10.6.8. I'd like to do a factory reset, but no matter WHAT I do during startup the computer won't go into Recovery mode. I've tried pretty much every key combo I can find but no matter what it just starts normally. I'm currently using a Windows wired keyboard. I also tried using a wireless Windows keyboard but nothing changed. I don't know what to do. I don't have access to any OS disks that may have come with the system. Please I just would like to reset it. I'm more experienced with Windows so any advice would help. Thanks.
10.6.8 is snow leopard. You can buy a Snow Leopard disk from Amazon for $20 but otherwise you will just have to roll the dice on finding a Snow Leopard .ISO/DMG online that you can burn to a Dual-Layer DVD as an install disk.
