I just ran into a problem. I installed real player on my win 7-64bit system. it worked fine for a month. then it stopped working. I tried everything suggested on this site and some realplayer forums. Nothing seemed to work. The only thing i could do was unistall real player. so i did. then i tried to install the new real player only to find that it wasnt installed. i went to the real player website and downloaded the newest version of the software for my platform and installed it. i then went back to the old version of real player, and it worked again. i re-installed the latest version of real player but it still didnt work. I then uninstalled the software and went to the realplayer website and downloaded the newest version of real player, installed it, and it worked again. Thats the only way to get it to work. The only time it wouldnt work was when i uninstalled real player. It would keep saying realplayer uninstaller is already running. as long as you make sure to uninstall the realplayer software first, i have gotten it to work every time. with the newest version of real player. as soon as you install it, it will install its own uninstaller that you must uninstall first if you want to use the real player software again.
Okay, i will provide more info on why this happened. Some user on the realplayer forums said that it was some virus and he deleted all the files. I did the same thing. I uninstalled realplayer. Then I went to the realplayer website and downloaded the newest version of the real player software. When i installed it, it said that there was already a version of realplayer installed on the computer, and it would uninstall the existing version, and install the new version. i uninstalled the original realplayer, it installed the new one, and it started working again. The only problem is that it needs to be installed and uninstalled every time. if you uninstall, it wont install again. so after you uninstall it, you need to download it again from the website. this is a hard way to uninstall the program, but if you dont uninstall it first, you wont be able to install a new version to fix a problem. i hope this helps others who have the same problem and dont want to do the hard way to uninstall the program
